Sales graphic
Which Joint Glide ingredients does the sales page highlight?
The sales page puts five names up front: MSM, glucosamine, pine bark, white willow bark and black pepper. Devil's claw and the four minerals are on the label too, but not on that graphic.
The label is the better guide. It names all 10 and shows how much of each you get. The biggest single amount is devil's claw root powder at 500 mg. The smallest is vitamin B6 at 0.5 mg.

Joint compounds
What do glucosamine and MSM add to Joint Glide?
Glucosamine and MSM are the two classic joint compounds in the formula. Joint Glide gives 200 mg glucosamine hydrochloride and 300 mg MSM per serving.
Glucosamine hydrochloride, 200 mg
Glucosamine is a natural building block of cartilage. The largest U.S. study, called GAIT, gave people 1,500 mg a day (Clegg et al., 2006). The National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health still calls the evidence uncertain (NCCIH, Glucosamine). The label does not say where the glucosamine comes from.
MSM, 300 mg
MSM is methylsulfonylmethane, a sulfur compound. Knee studies used 3.4 g a day (Debbi et al., 2011) and 6 g a day (Kim et al., 2006). The 2011 study found small changes of unclear clinical importance.

Plant roots and bark
Why does Joint Glide use devil's claw and white willow bark?
Devil's claw and white willow bark are traditional plant ingredients that researchers have tested for back and joint comfort. Together they make up 650 mg of each serving.
Organic devil's claw
A root from southern Africa, Harpagophytum procumbens. Studies used extracts that gave 50 to 100 mg of harpagoside a day for back pain, with low-quality evidence (Oltean et al., 2014). Joint Glide uses whole root powder.
White willow bark
The bark that gave the world salicin, the natural cousin of aspirin. Trials measured it by salicin, using 120 to 240 mg a day (Chrubasik et al., 2000). The label gives the extract weight only.

Extracts
What are the pine bark and black pepper extracts in Joint Glide?
Pine bark extract supplies plant compounds called proanthocyanidins, and black pepper extract supplies piperine. Joint Glide has 150 mg of the first and 10 mg of the second.
Pine bark extract, 150 mg
The label names Pinus massoniana, standardized to 95% proanthocyanidins. Knee trials used 150 mg a day of French maritime pine bark, a different species sold as Pycnogenol (Cisár et al., 2008) (Farid et al., 2007). Typical intake runs 100 to 400 mg a day, and pine bark is not linked to liver injury (LiverTox, Pine bark).
Black pepper extract, 10 mg
At 95% piperine, 10 mg gives about 9.5 mg of piperine. Piperine changes how the body absorbs other compounds. In one study, 20 mg raised curcumin blood levels in people (Shoba et al., 1998).

Vitamins and minerals
Which vitamins and minerals are in Joint Glide?
Joint Glide adds vitamin B6, magnesium, zinc and copper. The minerals come as amino acid chelates, a form bound to amino acids.
0.5 mg (29% DV)
As pyridoxal 5'-phosphate, the active form. Adults need 1.3 to 1.7 mg a day (NIH ODS, Vitamin B6).
100 mg (24% DV)
Well under the 350 mg daily limit for magnesium from supplements (NIH ODS, Magnesium).
2 mg (222% DV)
More than twice the 0.9 mg adult need, and a fifth of the 10 mg limit (NIH ODS, Copper).

At a glance
Joint Glide ingredients and the research behind them
Each Joint Glide ingredient has its own research history, mostly on single ingredients. The table lists the amount per serving, what studies looked at, and the source.
| Ingredient | Amount | What research looked at | Source |
|---|---|---|---|
| Devil's claw root powder | 500 mg | Harpagoside extracts for low back pain | (Oltean et al., 2014) |
| MSM | 300 mg | 3.4 to 6 g a day for knee comfort | (Kim et al., 2006) (Debbi et al., 2011) |
| Glucosamine HCl | 200 mg | 1,500 mg a day for painful knees | (Clegg et al., 2006) |
| Pine bark extract | 150 mg | 150 mg a day of Pycnogenol for knee stiffness | (Cisár et al., 2008) |
| White willow bark extract | 150 mg | Salicin doses for back pain and hip or knee comfort | (Chrubasik et al., 2000) (Biegert et al., 2004) |
| Black pepper extract | 10 mg | Absorption of other compounds | (Shoba et al., 1998) |
| Vitamin B6 | 0.5 mg | Daily need and upper limit | (NIH ODS, Vitamin B6) |
| Magnesium | 100 mg | Daily need and supplement limit | (NIH ODS, Magnesium) |
| Zinc | 10 mg | Daily need and upper limit | (NIH ODS, Zinc) |
| Copper | 2 mg | Daily need and upper limit | (NIH ODS, Copper) |
Fair to know
Are any Joint Glide ingredient amounts small?
Yes, two of them. Glucosamine is about 13% of the GAIT dose, and MSM is about 5 to 9% of the amounts used in MSM trials.
The label does not state the harpagoside in devil's claw or the salicin in willow bark, so those doses cannot be checked. The complete ten-ingredient capsule has never been tested in a published trial. On the plus side, the pine bark amount matches knee trial doses, and every weight is disclosed. The full comparison sits on our doses vs research article.
Capsule and extras
What else is in a Joint Glide capsule?
Only two other ingredients: Cellulose (vegetable capsule), Olive Oil. The capsule shell is plant cellulose, not gelatin.
- Label icons: Non-GMO · Soy Free · Lab Tested
- No turmeric, so no turmeric lead question
- No artificial colors listed
Two ingredients call for a quick check first. Willow bark is a salicylate, and glucosamine may raise bleeding risk with warfarin (NCCIH, Glucosamine). Read Joint Glide side effects before you start, and see how the formula is meant to work.
FAQ
Joint Glide ingredients FAQ
How many ingredients are in Joint Glide?
Ten active ingredients: six joint compounds and botanicals, plus vitamin B6, magnesium, zinc and copper. The capsule adds cellulose and olive oil.
Does Joint Glide use a proprietary blend?
No. Every ingredient has its own printed amount, so you can compare each one with studies.
Which ingredient has the largest amount?
Organic devil's claw root powder, at 500 mg per 2-capsule serving.
Is the glucosamine from shellfish?
The label does not say. Some glucosamine is made from shellfish shells, so call +1 (727) 351-3065 and ask before buying if you have a shellfish allergy.
Does Joint Glide contain turmeric?
No. Turmeric is not on the label, and black pepper extract is there on its own.
Why does a joint formula include copper and zinc?
The body uses both minerals in many enzymes, including ones involved in collagen. They are often paired because long-term high zinc can lower copper levels (NIH ODS, Zinc).
