Is Joint Glide a drug?

What are the ingredients in Joint Glide?
Each serving holds devil's claw root powder 500 mg, MSM 300 mg, glucosamine HCl 200 mg, pine bark extract 150 mg, white willow bark extract 150 mg and black pepper extract 10 mg. It also adds vitamin B6, magnesium, zinc and copper.
Does Joint Glide use a proprietary blend?
No. All 10 ingredients carry their own amount on the Supplement Facts panel. You can compare each one with research or with other products you take.
How much glucosamine is in a serving?
There are 200 mg of glucosamine hydrochloride in 2 capsules. For comparison, the large GAIT trial used 1,500 mg a day (Clegg et al., 2006).
Why is the copper 222% of the Daily Value?
Two capsules give 2 mg of copper, and the Daily Value is 0.9 mg. That is well under the adult upper limit of 10 mg a day (NIH ODS, Copper).
What are the other ingredients?
Cellulose (vegetable capsule), Olive Oil. The capsule shell is made from plant cellulose rather than gelatin.

No. White willow bark belongs to the same salicylate family as aspirin (NCCIH, Musculoskeletal pain), so people with that allergy should choose another product.
Is Joint Glide safe during pregnancy?
No. It is not for pregnant or nursing women, or for anyone under 18. Adults only, and healthy adults at that.
Can I take it with gallstones or a stomach ulcer?
No. Devil's claw is not advised with gallstones or ulcers. It may also affect blood pressure and blood sugar, which matters if you take medicine for either.
I have a shellfish allergy. Is Joint Glide okay?
Ask the order desk and your doctor first. The label does not say where the glucosamine comes from, and some glucosamine is made from shellfish shells.
Does black pepper extract matter if I take medicine?
